Description
The Q-Exactive HF (Thermo Scientific) is a hybrid high-resolution mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ion source (ESI) and a quadrupole mass filter coupled to the Orbitrap detector. Further, the instrument is coupled to a nanoHPLC platform, our primary platform for proteomics applications.
The HF offers a speedy cycle time for fragmentation experiments allowing deep characterization of very complex mixtures (proteome), further enhanced by its ultra-high resolution and sensitivity. The high sensitivity and signal stability turn it into the optimal platform for label free quantification.
The high resolution offered, combined with an expanded m/z range (up to 6000) make it the choice equipment for the high accuracy determination of intact protein mass.
